::Giving Thanks::

This will be a difficult Thanksgiving for my family as my mom will be missing....but I will give thanks for the time I had with her, and for the family that surrounds me still.  I hope you all have a warm-hearted and full-tummied day tomorrow being thankful for every good thing that has come your way this past year.

PSSSST...I'm no longer blogging here!
You can now find me at

Guess what I've been dreaming and obsessing about?

Now let me just say right up front, I never thought I'd build another house.
Because new-builds we could afford generally aren't very attractive,
and to get the 'old house look' usually means custom.
Not anymore.

If we go forward with this, I don't want tan/beige/brown/boring.
I've been trolling Pinterest to see what a craftsman homes in blue or green might do for me.

They'd do nicely, thankyouverymuch.

::A Cottage Bathoom Redo::

Ok, so like over a year ago I posted about how I was gonna redo my main floor bathroom.

We did actually *mostly* finish it before Robyn Rose (grandbaby extraordinare) joined us in April.

(I'm just not all that sure I can do a post without adding at least ONE pic of her princessness, I do apologize)

Mostly meaning: it was again functional, but not REALLY finished.
Now, it's as finished as it's gonna get.

Here is a psuedo-collage of the hideousness before:

And now, let's peek inside....

New hardware purchased at Target.  I sprayed the existing hinges with brushed nickel.

Painted the wee thrift stool the same color as the cabs.

Shower curtain and towels from Marshall's.

Trafficmaster vinyl floor.  Not really happy with this.  The seams are coming up.

Used the existing counter, sink and faucet.

 This has become my bathroom now, even though we have a room within our master bedroom that condescends to be a bathroom.
This newly refreshed room is right outside our bedroom door,
so I claimed it.

::soapy time::

We interrupt this amazingly awesome blog with the following bubbly message:

My newest fall soap line is ready to ship! (yay)
Head on over, pick out your favorite scents, and I'll wrap 'em up with a handmade tag and twine
and send 'em on out.

Making my soap this season was especially poignant as I began making it to ease my mama's chemo and radiation-dried skin when she was first diagnosed with cancer.
I will continue to make it in her honor and remember her unwavering support of me and my crafty little biz while I bring my magic potions to trace and mold 'em up.

Handmade soap is soooo wonderful on your skin, and smells fantabulous. (thankyouverymuch)
Speaking of which, this fall, besides my regular best selling 7 fragrance line up, I've added 7 new scents including a couple gorgeously festive Christmas scents perfect for gift giving or perfumifying up your guest bath for all those holiday soirees you'll be hosting.

Looking forward to hearing from ya.
